What is a metering pump?
The metering pump is widely used in the industrial field. What are they, specifically? We are talking about reciprocating pumps: their movement is due to the alternation of the piston or to a membrane, which is started by an eccentric, or by a classic rod-crank system or thanks to a pneumatic system.
Special valves are mounted, called “non-return”, ball, with gravity closing, which allows the pressure of the liquid in question, working in unison with the piston.
The flow rate of the metering pump is determined by the number of piston strokes and its displacement.
How does a metering pump work?
Basically, the metering pump takes care of sucking and pumping a certain liquid inside a given high, medium or low pressure circuit.
