What is a metering pump?
The metering pump is widely used in the industrial field. What are they, specifically? We are talking about reciprocating pumps: their movement is due to the alternation of the piston or to a membrane, which is started by an eccentric, or by a classic rod-crank system or thanks to a pneumatic system.
Special valves are mounted, called “non-return”, ball, with gravity closing, which allows the pressure of the liquid in question, working in unison with the piston.
The flow rate of the metering pump is determined by the number of piston strokes and its displacement.
How does a metering pump work?
Basically, the metering pump takes care of sucking and pumping a certain liquid inside a given high, medium or low pressure circuit.
The precise and correct operation of the metering pumps is due to the microprocessor technology. In the last years, in the industrial sector, we have been able to observe an improvement of the products, thanks to the advance of the technology.
An indispensable element in the industrial sector: contact us for a quote
The numbers are shocking: the metering pumps in the world are millions. As we said before, there are many types of dosing pumps, depending on your need:
- Piston metering pump;
- Peristaltic metering pump;
- Diaphragm metering pump (mechanical excursion);
- Hydraulic diaphragm metering pump (hydraulic excursion).
Moreover, the metering pumps have different uses and are indispensable in any civil and industrial sector. In OMZ, the metering pumps, allow the use of detergents, with a technology that allows you to control the amount, excluding the passage of detergent in machinery such as; boilers, exchangers, pumps etc. by directing it directly to the final user. In addition, our metering pumps are equipped with a system that allows the rinsing of the circuits with water, at the end of the use of each detergent.
At OMZ, we know how important it is to have a modern machine that meets all the needs of the industry. For this reason, we have decided to be a company at the service of our customers: each of our products is compliant with current European Union regulations.
For any doubt or further clarification, we invite you to call us at our telephone number, or send us an email. We have a technical assistance that is available to customers for any eventuality.
